An honest comparison
We built the best diffuser we could. Then we ran out of money.
Here's how reed sticks, plug-ins, water diffusers, candles and “free machine” subscriptions really compare — and why we're clearing the last of ours at half price.
Most homes never smell like a nice hotel for one boring reason: the thing making the scent is too weak for the room. We build fragrance machines — so before we tell you about ours, here's an honest look at what you're probably using now.
The five most common ways people scent a home
What each is good at, and where it lets you down.
1. Reed diffusers
Sticks in a bottle of scented oil.
Good
- Cheap to start
- No power or noise
- Looks tidy on a shelf
Not so good
- Scents a corner, not a room
- Fades in a week or two
- You stop noticing it fast
2. Plug-ins & aerosol sprays
Wall units and cans that puff synthetic fragrance.
Good
- Very cheap
- Instant strong burst
- Easy to find anywhere
Not so good
- Reads as “air freshener”
- Harsh on-off blasts
- Synthetic, chemical edge
3. Ultrasonic water diffusers
The misting pods that use water + essential oil.
Good
- Inexpensive
- Soft visible mist
- Adds a little humidity
Not so good
- Water dilutes the scent
- Covers a desk, not a room
- Mold and residue over time
4. Scented candles
The default gift and coffee-table scent.
Good
- Warm ambiance and light
- Low entry price
- Huge choice of scents
Not so good
- Scent barely leaves the table
- Burns out in ~40 hours
- Open flame and soot
5. “Free machine” subscriptions
Pro-grade machines offered “free” if you subscribe.
Good
- Real whole-room scent
- Hotel-style technology
- No upfront machine cost
Not so good
- The “free” hides a contract
- Small, pricey refills
- Cancelling can mean fees

AURESSEN — the machine, without the catch
We wanted the whole-room scent of the subscription machines, with none of the traps above. So we over-built one machine and paired it with proper oil.
- Aircraft-grade aluminum body. Not plastic — it reads as design, not appliance.
- Two-fluid atomization. Turns undiluted oil into a dry mist finer than smoke. No water to weaken it, no heat, no flame.
- Fills 100–1,500 sq ft. Five sizes, each rated honestly, so it reaches the whole space.
- Nothing lands on your furniture. Dry mist, not a wet spray — no oily film.
- Quiet, set-and-forget. Runs on your schedule. You forget it's on until guests ask what smells so good.
- Undiluted 100 ml oil. Fine-fragrance oil built for the machine — one bottle lasts 2–3 months.
On paper it beats every option above. Which brings us to the awkward part.
In real homes
Not studio shots — the machine running where people actually live.
The honest part: we're closing, and it all has to go
We made an expensive choice. We poured our money into the machine — the aluminum, the atomizer, the oils — and almost nothing into marketing.
It caught up with us. We're a small new brand, the runway is gone, and we can't keep paying to store a warehouse full of machines most people never got to hear about.
So we've made the hard call: we're selling the last of our stock and winding the brand down. Everything is half price — the Suite is $145 instead of $295 — to clear it while we still can.
This isn't a marketing “sale.” It's the end of our runway. If you've ever wanted one, this is the moment — at the lowest price it will ever be.

The last of every machine
Pick the room you want to smell like a hotel. Each one, half price.

Buying from a brand that's closing — is it safe?
Fair question, and here's the straight answer. Every machine is tested before it leaves the warehouse and ships complete in the box, sealed. If yours arrives faulty, email us and we'll replace it or refund it while there's still stock and someone here to help. What we can't pretend to offer is a years-long warranty from a company that's winding down — so we've priced it honestly instead: half of what it cost yesterday. The machine is built from aluminum to last; the only real risk is waiting until it's sold out.
